The Spanish roads claim 17 lives in the first three days of Holy Week.

On Sunday, eight people died in seven traffic accidents, in which four people were also seriously injured and five other form of mild, as reported by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT). Fatal accidents have taken place in the provinces of Barcelona, Madrid, Toledo, Almeria, Malaga, Tarragona and Gerona, in the latter two deaths.
These figures are a total of 17 deaths, six serious injuries and eight minor for the moment during this weekend. In 2007, there were 34 deaths the late Sunday. At the time of Saturday were seven dead in Spanish roads, while on Friday there were two other accidents, resulting in two deaths. The number of deaths has decreased but in spite of that it should be zero.
Since Friday, at 15 hours and until March 24, is up a special device to ensure the smooth flow and security of the movements of Easter, a period in which 103 people died last year on the roads.
