The sale of dwellings fell by 38.6% during March

The sale of homes continues its downward path, as marked indicators in March, when decreased by 38.6% over the same month of 2007. In all, 46,074 buildings were exchanged, a 16.4% less compared with the figure in February. During the month of March, the free sale of homes fell 39.1% in interannual rate, while houses with protection decreased by 32.2% over the same month of previous year. For its part, the number of operations on new homes sales fell to 27.5% with the transfer of 22,534 properties, while transactions of used homes fell by 46.4% to 23,540. For autonomous regions, La Rioja and Murcia are the number of housing transactions was higher, although Andalusia, Valencia, Catalonia and Madrid recorded 57% of total sales.
